Martial Arts are various systems and traditions of training for combat that have been systematized in order to be executed in ways such as self-defense.
A long time ago, fighters of Jianghu learned martial arts in order to secure their own safety and protection against enemies. Over time, martial arts evolved from being used for self-defense into a tool to kill enemies.
It grew to be more sophisticated and complicated as the simple forms became a series of movements and the application of breathing techniques was introduced, pioneering the basics of cultivation and internal energy.
Then on, martial artists passed on these martial arts as teachings and heirlooms to the future generation with the use of books, allowing it to be learned and continue to evolve.
Martial artists who had become master of martial arts were more powerful than normal humans since some has abilities like moving through the trees like the wind, crush stones with their fists, and cut down trees with the swing of a sword. And after some time, they were soon called the Murim people (Wulin).
However, martial artists who wanted to become more powerful soon become disciples of the Murim and they gathered to form clans and factions. Those clans who wanted justice and honor formed a faction and called themselves the Forces of Justice, and the ones who did not care about using violence and cruelty were called the Forces of Evil.
And between the tight balance between these two forces, there was another faction that pursued an entirely different route, which is the path of demons that seeks only strength; the world began to call them the Heavenly Demon Divine Cult[1].
