The Heavenly Demon Divine Cult (천마신교 天魔神敎) also known as the Demonic Cult (마교) or Sky Demon Cult is one of the three largest influences in the Murim and is a faction pursues strength[1]. It is on par alongside the Forces of Justice in the north, Forces of Evil in the west. The uprising of Blade God Six Martial Clan tipped the three-way balance of the Murim making it a four-way deadlock. They are independent and were in a non-aggression pact with the Great Ming Empire[2].
Overview[]
Currently, the cult is located on the Ten Thousand Mountains in the south of the Yellow River[3]. It is a religious group that originated from a Zoroastrian Church in Xinjiang[4] that worshipped the Demon God and the Holy Fire[5] and seeks the path of pursuing strength.
History before founding[]
Demonic cult was created based on those organisations:
- Heaven and Earth Society > before Heaven, Earth and Moon Society > before 3 veins (Moon vein was the most important for history of Heavenly Demon Divine Cult) > before Dual Martial Forces.
- Fire Faith Order
Clans created from survivors of Dual Martial Forces (also some recruited from outside like a Ou Yezifamily) were foundation of cult itself (Military power, martial arts, people etc). Fire Faith Order took role of creating Demonic Cult culture, spirit and principles (entire symbolic of fire, official way of greeting Demon Lord, scriptures etc.). It's like a case of Roman Empire military power being conquered by a Greek culture.

Is the child of the Lord born from the Holy Maiden that was chosen by the Holy Fire, an item originated from the Fire Faith Order. Its rank is next to the Lord. but their authority is usually similar to or lower than that of the Council Elder. But due to the incident that occurred 500 years ago that led to the abolishment of the Holy Fire system, the Lord took up wives from the Six Clans and the offspring will become Vice-Lord Candidates and fight for the position known as the "Battle of the Heirs"[3].
Holy Maiden (신녀, 神女)[]
Also known as the Demonic Lady, she is chosen by the Holy Fire to be the wife of the Lord. Wi Soyeon was a first Holy Maiden in history of Demon Cult and wife of Heavenly Demon Patriarch. This position came from Fire Faith Order doctrine that became a core of Heavenly Demon Divine Cult traditions. However, this position was abolished during the era of Cheon Mu Hwa. But it was implemented again during Cheon Yeo Woon's time as the Lord[3].

They have the highest authority within the Cult second only to the Lord, and was the only pones allowed to bring their own weapons inside the Great Hall. It is composed of three families, which are the Great Guardian Family, Right Guardian Family and the Left Guardian Family[3].

This position was started during Cheon Yeo Woon's era as the Lord of the Heavenly Demonic Cult[3].
Council Elders (장로(長老)[8][]
Is a high authority and a position only handed to the strongest masters in the Heavenly Demonic Cult. But due to the incident that occured 500 years ago and the formation of the Six Clans, the six positions became consolidated and hereditary, unlike the other six. But during Cheon Yeo Woon's time, the positions reverted back io the merit-first system and were changed and challenged every 5 years. In the Gaiden of the Descent of the Demon God, the 12 existing positions were expanded to 16 since the Heavenly Demonic Cult achieved the unification of Murim under Cheon Yeo Woon[3].

After becoming the Lord, Cheon Yeo Woon expanded the number of Palace Guards and made them into six divisions. The Six Swords are assigned to be the leaders of the divisions[3].
- Palace Guard Leader: Hou Jinchang
- Palace Guard Lieutenant: Hu Bong
- First Sword: Ko Wang-Hur
- Second Sword: Mun Ku
- Third Sword: Baek Gi
- Fourth Sword: Sama Chak
- Fifth Sword: Hou Sanghwa

Clans[]
The Heavenly Demonic Cult has a long history and was composed of many different clans, ranging from high-ranking to small sized clans. The cult was centered on the Cheon Family which was the highest ranking, along with the founding Guardian Families.
After Cheon Yeo Woon became the Lord, he removed the Six Clan system to return it to a Family system and made it so that any of the families except for the Lords Palace doesn't have more than a few private guards and everyone else would belong to the Cult and so everyone would get resources and martial arts based on their own Strength and Talent and the cult became stronger ever.
