The Cheon Family, literally meaning "Heavenly Family", are the highest-ranked family in the Heavenly Demon Divine Cult and are the direct descendants of the Heavenly Demon Patriarch, the founder of the Great cult.

Originally, the Cheon Family was not directly related to the Six Clans. It is because the cult utilizes the tradition where the Holy Maiden (Demonic Lady in novel) will be chosen by the Holy Fire at the Altar and will become the wife of the Lord and giving birth of the vice lord. This tradition makes the cult more balanced since the power is not concentrated on specific clans. After the Blade God's assassination of the 7th Lord Cheon Mu Hui at the time, the old tradition was abolished by the Council Elders in order to grasp stronghold of power that leads to the formation of the Six Clans System by marrying Cheon Mu Hwa. It is then that the Cheon family became intertwined with the Six Clans where many vice lords were birthed leading to competition of the heir. The Great Lord himself and everyone in this lineage grew up to be extremely powerful.
Before the assassination of the 7th Lord Cheon Mu Hui, the vice lord at the time was taught orally about Heavenly Demon Patriarch's Sword Force of the Heavenly Demon that is passed through the family. But after the untimely death of the 7th Lord, Sword Demon's creation, a subversion of the technique as a base is taught to Cheon Mu Hwa and the future Lords of the cult which is the Heavenly Demonic Sword Technique.
